Stories From The Field

"I am the sole carer for my two small children and aged parents-in-law, it is hard work but I keep smiling. To help me care for my family, The Cycle built an eco-toilet for us to use. My children are healthy now which means I don’t have to spend money on medicines, so I send them to school to complete their studies. Things are easier now, so I can smile even more!"

"When The Cycle built a toilet in my village I learnt all about hand-washing and how important it is to stay healthy. They taught me using a game which I now play with other children in my neighbourhood! It’s not only super fun but it also teaches us all about staying healthy with clean hands. I also make sure my mum and dad wash their hands before cooking, eating and after going to the toilet."

"Before The Cycle constructed a toilet in my community, my mother and I had to travel far in the dark to find a place to go. It was often scary and dangerous because of the snakes and men would sometimes follow us. Now we have a toilet, we are so much safer, happier and healthier."

Mrs. Ranjitha, Cuddalore
